The only shaping you have is in the neck to give this crochet pullover a perfect crewneck fit! 18 sts x 18 rows is 4”x4” in sc, (ch 1, sk) where sc, ch 1, sk 1 equals 2 sts made.

  • Skill Level: Intermediate, but perfect for a determined beginner.

  • Garment is designed to fit with a 2″ positive ease.  Find your personal bust size in chart below and make the size that suits your personal ease.
  • I do not use a ch 1 in this pattern when turning to create a straighter, stiffer edge, you may use a ch 1 if you would like. 
  • “sc 1” means to single crochet in the next stitch.
  • “sc 2” means to single crochet in each of the next 2 stitches.
  • “2 sc” means to single crochet twice in the next stitch to create an increase.
  • Front and Back Panels have different neck shaping instructions.

Waist Ribbing – Make 2

Color A 
Row 1 – Ch 10 and work 1 sl st in each back bump. [10 sts]
Row 2 – Turn, sl st blo in each stitch.
Rows 3 to 120 (136, 144, 152, 168, 176, 200, 208, 240) – Repeat Row 2, do not finish off, continue to Body Panel Instructions.

Body Panels – Make 2

Continuing with Color A
Row 1 – Turn and work 1 sc between every other row end. [60 (68, 72, 76, 84, 88, 100, 104, 120) sts] 

Note: Be mindful of tension so the stitches do not pinch the row ends of the Waist Ribbing.

Assembly 

  1. Lay your Back Panel on your Front Panel with right sides facing.
  2. Working from the Shoulder in to the Neck Opening, seam together using a mattress stitch or seaming method of choice on both sides.
  3. Place a SM 7.5 (7.5, 8, 8.5, 9, 10, 10, 11, 11)” down from the shoulder to mark the arm pit. 
  4. Starting from the waist ribbing seam up to the SM you just placed at the arm pit using a mattress stitch or seaming method of choice, repeat for other side. 
  5. Turn your sleeve right side in and with the join aligned with the arm pit begin seaming your sleeves to the body (front and back panel), repeat for other sleeve. 
  6. Finish off and weave in all ends. 
  7. Turn your sweater right side out and continue to Neck Trim.

Neck Trim

  1. Using Color A, attach your yarn at one of the shoulder seams.
  2. With the right side facing you single crochet evenly around the neck opening, sl st to join.
  3. Chain 1 and sc in each stitch using a sc2tog in each corner created by the neck shaping, there should be 4 “corners” on the front panel and 2 “corners” on the back panel.
  4. Repeat Step 3 three more times or until you have your desired neck opening. 
  5. Finish off and weave in your ends.
