Pattern Description
This Free Crochet Pattern is designed to have zero inches of ease meaning the bust measurement in the chart is the actual measurement. If you would like a more loose fit you can go up a size.
The suggested yarn for this top is an acrylic and cotton yarn blend, it is super soft and durable but any worsted weight yarn that meets gauge will be a great option for this crochet boho top.
Designed to hit just at the hip, you can wear this top in warm weather with a pair of well-worn jeans and some cute sandals for brunch dates!
To customize this free pattern to a crochet crop top you can reduce the number of repeats used on the front and back panels.
If you would like to make this a longer tunic length top then you can add additional rows to the body panels before the short rows for the neck and split for the back opening.
There is a crochet diagram below if you are a visual learner and prefer a stitch chart. Although I have deemed this an intermediate skill level pattern, if you follow the instructions closely you can make this adorable top as an advanced beginner.
This is a very straight forward garment with no shaping except for the decrease stitches in the back to create the open ‘v’. If you would like to add any shaping be sure to take detailed notes so you can make the back panels match the front panels.

Assembly
- Preblock or steam your panels.
- Lay your completed panels with right sides facing.
- Seam along the final rows of each panel to create the shoulder seams.
- Seam from the waist up to create your side seam leaving 17 (17, 17, 18, 18) (19, 20, 20, 21) rows open for the arm holes.
- Weave in all of your ends and steam for a second time.
I-Cord (Make 2)
Row 1 – Ch 3.
Row 2 – Pull up a loop in the 2nd and 3rd chain from the hook, 3 loops on hook. Remove loops 2 and 3 from your hook (be sure to pinch the bottom of those loops before you remove the hook so they don’t change size) you may place them on a SM or a DPN (if you have one) or if you are a rebel like me, just let them fly freely!
Row 3 – Yarn over, pull up a loop in loop 1, insert your hook into loop 2, yarn over, pull up a loop, insert your hook into loop 3, yarn over, pull up a loop.
Remaining Rows – Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until your i-cord reaches approximately 20 inches, finish off and create a second i-cord.
I-Cord Placement
Attach your I-cord in your last Row 4 Repeat in the “Split for Back Panel”, weave in all ends and enjoy!
