The Dahlia Top was a project that just seemed to come right off of my hook exactly how I intended from the first try. That isn’t something that happens often in pattern design. The hardest part of creating this top was finding a name that suit her perfectly. In doing some research I came across ‘Dahlia’ as a name and instantly fell in love. Dahlia’s are elegant and stunning flowers. As a girl’s name Dahlia is said to mean ‘Inspirational’ which I believe is a great description for this top. This top is simple and elegant but has a lot of little design features that I believe it will continue to inspire myself and others who make one.

NOTE : Dahlia can be made with or without sleeves, directions are included.

  1. I love how you write your patters. Easy to read. The instructions don’t all run together, sometime causing a person to loose their way. Thank you, for the Dahlia top & the Catalina Cardi instructions. So stylish and perfect for Fall in CA. Mariana

  2. Having a problem with the rows 44-51. In row 38 repeat you are adding a stitch. When you finish row 51 you have added 5 stitches for a total of 80 stitches. And to proceed there is no row 52.then you go to row 53 and at the end of those repeats it says you still have 75 stititches. So I am confused. Help

    1. Sorry, I just realized that’s for the xl. That is the correct stitch count. Did you do the decreases in the beginning? Each size has an 8 stitch difference, so 75 is correct.

  3. Where can I find the size that correlates with the number of stitches in the parentheses. I want to make this but need to know which to choose for my bust size. Thanks, I am sure I missed it somewhere.

    1. Hi! Currently I have all the sizing information in a chart in the paid pdf. It’s on my to-do list to add that info into the blog posts. For reference, I am wearing the medium in the photos and I am a 34” bust, 5’-7” and 125 pounds.
