How to Crochet an Easy Washcloth for Beginners!

Materials
- Size 5.00 mm crochet hook
- #4 Cotton Yarn–1.5oz
- New sample made with Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton in creamsicle and ecru.
Gauge
The Gauge for this beginner crocheted washcloth is 15 sts x 15 rows in pattern repeat is 4” x 4”. While the gauge isn’t super important for this project, it is still worth checking, even just for practice!

Free Crochet Washcloth Pattern Begins
Row 1
Ch 31, sl st in the 2nd chain from the hook, dc in the next chain *sl st in next ch, DC in the next, repeat from * to end. [30 total stitches.]
Row 2
Ch 1, turn, sl st in 1st dc, dc in next sl sl, *sl st in next dc, dc in next sl st, repeat from * to end. [30 total stitches.]
Row 3 – 30
Repeat Row 2
DO NOT FINISH OFF
How to Trim your Easy Crochet Washcloth
- Chain 13, sl st back into last stitch, turn your work clockwise to work down the row ends, placing 1 sc in each sl st/dc.
- Place 3 total sc in last stitch to create the corner.
- Turn your work clockwise again now working along the starting chain, place one sc in each stitch.
- Place 3 total sc in last stitch to create the corner.
- Turn your work clockwise again to now work back up the other side.
- Repeat steps until you reach your Sl St and chain 13.
- Sc evenly in the ch-13 loop.
- Sl st back into corner.
- Finish off and weave in your end!
- Final measurement is 8” x 8”
