Pattern Description
Go full circle on this huge wrap to create a beautiful, flowing material! Simple stitches mixed with texture to create positive and negative space turn this wrap into an instant heirloom.
This circular crochet shawl is made with Lion Brand Wool-Ease Recycled, a worsted weight yarn that is really a very light aran weight. You could easily substitute a dk weight yarn in this pattern as long as you check your gauge.
Classified as an Intermediate crochet project, this circular shawl is written in US terms.
When creating this full circle shawl you will be working in back and forth rows and turning at the end of each row. However, you are essentially creating flat circle without using a sl st to join creating a slit so that this circle wrap can sit around your shoulders.
This pattern alternates an a few easy repeat rows with a more difficult repeat row mixed in. Repeat Rows that require special stitches are Cleary noted before working the row.
Be mindful of what row you are working on because there is a right side on this pattern.
Also be mindful of your stitch count because the more detailed rows need to have the right base count to work.
Wool Ease Recycled grows significantly when blocked. If you do not use the recommended yarn be sure to see that the yarn you do choose with grow when block or you may not have the right size project when finished, check the care directions to pick the best blocking option.
Leave long tails when tying in new yarn, the long loose ends will make weaving them in easier.
I love circular shawls and plan on doing more of them, if you would like a more simple circular shawl you can wrap around your shoulders check out the Charlotte Circle Wrap.
