How to Crochet a Triangle?
Going from a simple rectangle to a triangle for the first time when learning to crochet can sometimes be a bit intimidating. However, it is easy to crochet a triangle and there are so many ways to do it! For this pattern you will start from the widest part of the Triangle Shawl and by working a decrease down one side create a triangle!
Choosing your Yarn and Crochet Hook
For this project I used a new yarn from Lion Brand called Color Theory…and I LOVE it! I already have 3 more projects using this yarn! Color Theory is a machine washable and dryable 100% easy to care for acrylic in a classic CYC #4 worsted weight making it perfect for any project! With 18 colors available that were chosen so that each one works well with another you can’t go wrong when choosing 4 colors to use for my Free Triangle Shawl Crochet Pattern!
This yarn is a 12 ply with a high twist which makes wonderful stitches and gives every project amazing drape! It is hard to believe but it gets better even after a good steam block! My only warning is that because this is a high ply yarn I would avoid any crochet hooks that are more pointed because you may catch the yarn if you generally have a tight tensions.
