Pattern Description

This lapghan pattern is designated as an Easy Skill Level Pattern that uses bulky yarn and basic stitches for the entire blanket!

When crocheting this simple blanket you will be using chains, single crochets and double crochet stitches that will create the lovely texture of this blanket.

To create the crooked clusters on this cozy lap blanket you will create a double crochet, 3 chains and then work 3 double crochets around the post of the double crochet before the chains. For a visual, watch the Video Tutorial or use the stitch diagram below.

By using basic crochet stitches, this crochet lapghan is a perfect project for new crocheters or a beginner crocheter who wants to make a warm blanket.

As stated above a good thing about this easy crochet blanket is that alongside the written free pattern you also have the help of a crochet stitch chart and row by row video tutorial.

How to Adjust Sizing

It is simple to create the perfect size for your blanket! The multiple for this blanket pattern is 10 plus 9, so make sure your starting chain matches that after you figure out sizing using the method below.

Using the gauge swatch you can figure out more sizes even if you use larger or smaller yarn with a different hook.

Feel free to make a baby blanket, couch throw, something simple like a pot holder or hand towels just to get the hang of the different stitch patterns in this special crochet technique.

To figure out yardage, weigh your skein and measure it once completed. Figure out how many swatches you would need to create the blanket sizes you like. Then multiply that number of swatches by the weight of the one swatch and you will know how much yarn you need by weight.

For example, of your swatch is 4 by 4 inches and weighs 0.1 ounces and you want to make a 24 by 36 inch baby blanket you would need 6 swatches multiplied by 9 swatches which is 54 – 4 by 4 inch swatches. 54 swatches at 0.1 ounces each is 5.4 ounces of yarn!

Hue and Me is 4.4 ounces per skein so you would need two skeins. This is HYPOTHETICAL, you need to create your own swatch and weigh it according to your stitches and tension.
