What to Crochet with Chunky, Bulky or Jumbo Yarn
Chunky, Bulky and Jumbo Yarns are great for fast and warm blankets, throws and afghans! These yarns are also wonderful for baskets and pillows. Using thick yarns create dramatic items with their oversized stitches! Great for gift making, craft fairs and markets!
What stitch is best for a thick blanket?
Half Double Crochet. The Half Double Crochet Stitch is best for a thick blanket since it works up fast and isn’t a yarn eater. A HDC Stitch also doesn’t make a blanket with a lot of holes but will still have a good drape. Using a single crochet stitch takes a while and double crochet stitches can leave gaps, so a half double crochet stitch is best for a thick blanket.
