Sia Scarf – Free Crochet Pattern

Sometimes you need a stash busting, quick project! The Free Sia Scarf Crochet Pattern is just that! It’s fast and uses just one skein of yarn! I’m sure you have enough in your stash, or you can get creative with multiple colors! I designed the Sia Scarf to be a fun pattern repeat that won’t be boring! This scarf is perfect for when the weather is just getting chilly or just starting to warm up! Light and lacy, you’ll love this scarf and so will everyone else! So be ready to make multiples!

Materials

6.00 mm Crochet Hook
Yarn Needle
Scissors
256 yards #4 Worsted Wt.
*1 Skein of RH Soft*
Tassels of choice
*I Cut 30 – 10” strands*

Gauge/Size

14 sts x 6 rows is 4”x4” in DC
5.5” Wide x 55” Long

Stitch Descriptions and Abbreviations

• Chain Stitch – CH – yarn over, pull yarn through stitch on hook.
• Foundation Double Crochet – FDC – CH 3, yarn over, insert hook into first chain, *yarn over, pull up a loop, 3 loops on hook, yarn over, pull through 1 loop, 3 loops on hook, yarn over, pull through 2 loops, 2 loops on hook, yarn over, pull though 2 loops, 1 loop on hook.* (First FDC created) Yarn over and insert your hook into the bottom “V” you created on your FDC, repeat from *  *.
• Double Crochet – DC – Yarn over, insert hook into stitch or space, pull up a loop, (3 loops on hook), yarn over, pull through 2 loops, yarn over, pull through remaining loops.
• Puff Stitch – PS – Yarn over, insert hook into stitch or space and pull up a loop, repeat 3 more times, yarn over, pull through all loops on hook.
• * * – Designates a repeat.
• NOTE – Chain 3 counts as a stitch (DC).
• NOTE – Chain 3’s used to create the point are not counted in the total number of stitches for each row

Scarf

Row 1

FDC 11, CH 3, then continue with another FDC 11 to create a corner. [22 total stitches.]

Row 2

CH 3, turn, skip next stitch and then DC, *CH1, skip 1 st and DC*, * * 2 more times.

CH1, PS around CH 3 space of precious row, CH 3, PS around CH 3 of previous row again,

CH 1, skip next 2 DC sts, *DC, CH 1, skip 1 st*, * *3 more times, place last DC in last FDC.

[22 total stitches.]

Row 3

CH 3, turn, skip next CH 1 space, DC in next DC. *DC around next CH 1 space, DC in next DC* repeat to last CH 1 space and DC in last CH 1 space, DC in PS, place 1 DC around CH 3 space, CH 3, place 1 DC around CH 3 space, DC in PS, *DC in next CH 1 space, DC in next DC* repeat 3 more times, 1 DC in turning CH 3 of previous row. [22 total stitches.]

Row 4

CH 3, turn, skip next stitch and then DC, *CH1, skip 1 st and DC*, * * 2 more times.

CH1, PS around CH 3 space of precious row, CH 3, PS around CH 3 of previous row again,

CH 1, skip next 2 DC sts, *DC, CH 1, skip 1 st*, * * 3 more times, place last DC in turning CH 3 of previous row. [22 total stitches.]

Rows 5 – 91
Repeat Rows 3 and 4 ending with a Row 3 repeat.

Finish off and weave in your ends before adding your tassels.

Finishing

Now if you have chosen to have tassels, you will be adding them to the farthest points. So, one on one side and two on the other.

Take 10 of your pre-cut strand of yarn or desired material and fold them in half. Using your crochet hook, pull the center of the strands through each farthest corner.

Pull the ends through the center of your tassel and pull tight.

Adjust your tassels as needed and you are done!
