Delta Cocoon Free Crochet Pattern

Don’t be intimidated by the intricate looking shell pattern. Just a few simple row repeats and you will be on your way to breezing through this project. When you’re done, you won’t even believe how fast it went!
Designed to be easy to wear and style, this cocoon is for everyone. I designed this cocoon in three size groupings, Petite, Standard and Plus. If you are an in between size you can go up or down for the fit you desire!

STITCH DESCRIPTIONS AND ABBREVIATIONS
- Chain Stitch – ch
- Slip Stitch – sl st
- Stitch(es) – st(s)
- Skip – sk
- Stitch Marker – SM
- Single Crochet – sc
- Half Double Crochet – hdc
- Double Crochet – dc
- Treble Crochet – tr
- Front Post Double Crochet – FPdc -Work a double crochet as you normally would by placing your hook from front to back to front around the post of the designated stitch.
- Back Post Double Crochet – BPdc -Work a double crochet as you normally would by placing your hook from back to front to back around the post of the designated stitch.
PATTERN NOTES
- Petit (Standard, Plus) – Petit (xs/s/m) Standard (s/m/l) Plus ( m/l/xl)
- * Designates a repeat.
- NOTE – Chain 3 counts as a stitch (dc).
- “sc 1” means to single crochet in the next stitch.
- “sc 2” means to single crochet in each of the next 2 stitches.
- “2 sc” means to single crochet twice in the next stitch to create an increase.
Main Panel
Ch 158 (182, 206)
Row 1 – Sc in the 2nd chain from the hook, *skip next 2 chains, place 7 dc in next chain, skip 2 chains, sc in next chain, repeat from * to end.
Row 2 – Ch 4 (counts as TR), turn, skip first SC and next DC, *DC in next 5 DC sts, skip next 3 sts*,
* * Repeat across ending with a set of 5 DCs then place 1 TR in last SC stitch.
Row 3 – CH 3 (counts as DC), turn, 3 DC in first TR, skip next 2 DC, SC in DC, *Skip next 2 DC, place 7 DC in between last skipped DC and next DC, skip next 2 DC, SC in next DC*, * * Repeat across to end placing 4 DC in turning CH 4 of previous row.
Row 4 – CH 3 (counts as DC), turn, DC in next 2 DC, Skip next 3 sts, *DC in next 5 DC sts, skip next 3 sts *, * * Repeat across to last 3 DC and turning CH 3 to end with 3 DC sts.
Row 5 – CH 1, turn, SC in first DC, * Skip next 2 DC, place 7 DC in between last skipped DC and next DC, skip next 2 DC, SC in next DC*, * * Repeat across to end placing last SC in the 3rd turning chain of previous row.
Rows 6 – 48 – Repeat Rows 2-5.
Finish off and weave in your ends.
Assembly
Lay your panel flat and so that the rows are horizontal in front of you. Fold your top and bottom corners into the middle to create pointed sides. Starting from the corners you have brought together, seam in leaving a 5-1/2 inch opening at the end. This is the arm hole.
How to Create Crochet Trim
Sleeves/Cuffs
Reattach your yarn at the seam you created for the arm opening.Round 1
CH 1, HDC evenly around, approximately 42 sts. Be sure to have an even number.
Rounds 2 – 6 –CH 2, *FPDC/BPDC* around. [42 total stitches]
Round 7 – CH 1, FPDC around first 2 FPDC sts skipping over the BPDC, then *FPDC/BPDC*
[40 total stitches]
Rounds 8 – 13 – CH 2, *FPDC/BPDC* around. [40 total stitches]
Round 14 – CH 1, FPDC around first 2 FPDC sts skipping over the BPDC, then *FPDC/BPDC*
[38 total stitches]
Rounds 15 – 17 – CH 2, *FPDC/BPDC* around. [38 total stitches]
Finish off and weave in your ends.
Body Opening
Reattach your yarn at one of the side seam openings that have created the body opening.
Round 1 – CH 1, HDC evenly around, approximately 228 (268, 308) sts. Be sure to have an even number.
Rounds 2 – 7 – CH 2, *FPDC/BPDC* around. [228 (268, 308) total stitches]
Finish off and weave in your ends.

Yes there are links but not for the free pattern!!!!! What a rip off m, Your pattern is nice but not worth the turmoil of trying to find it!@!!!!
The patter WAS free but is currently contracted with Mary Maxim, it will not be free again until the contract is over, as stated in the post, sorry.
