A Pattern in the Works…

Have I told you before how much I LOVE pattern writing? I’m such a geek for organization, directions, and process.

So one project I’ve been wanting to tackle is a bag. I’ve never made one before, but I’ve seen some that are adorable, but not exactly what I was looking for. So after a whole bunch of designing in my head and looking at stitches I think I finally know how I want to make it. So that’s what I’m doing!

This was the very beginning of said bag…..

….and it grew…..just not how I intended it to. It wasn’t shaping up the way I saw it in my head. Literally. So now……

…..since I LOVE this blue yarn so much (Caron Simply Soft in Light Country Blue)

I started my bag idea over in the same yarn, different color (Forest Floor). I’m working through each row and round trying to tweak my pattern so it does what I want it to do. I’m being a little OCD with this one. BUT it’s working! I’ll take more progress pictures once I’m a bit farther along so you can see the difference!

Don’t worry, I’ll post here when the pattern is available!

Best,                                                            Brianna

  1. I love Caron Simply Soft!! I’m working on a maxi skirt right now using Country Blue, which is just a tad darker than the light country blue I think. I’m completely free styling it – I should have written down what I was doing LOL. My very next project is going to be a picnic basket – in my head it’s awesome – lets see if it comes off the hook that way! 😀

    1. It’s definitely one of my favorite yarns! Every stitch I’ve tried with it looks beautiful! I only had one skein of the Light County Blue, it was a random one in the stash I found in my attic. 😹 A maxi skirt sounds interesting! I’m just getting my toes wet with clothing!

      1. I’ve had plenty of clothing fails! But on the bright side I have a huge assortment of lopsided sweaters to wear around the house!! I just go for it, if it comes out halfway decent looking then success!! 😀

      1. I’ll have to check! Thanks so much, I thought I had comments turned on for all of them!!!

      2. I’m trying to figure out which ones did not have the comments turned on. I’ve gone through all of them and it seems they all do, so I’m not sure what wrong. Do you happen to remember which ones? Thanks so much for letting me know!!!
