Starting is always the hardest part. So many ideas and directions to go in. Should I post about my day? Should I post about my latest crochet project? The first post really puts on some serious pressure! I think I’ll just broad brush this one as a bit of an extension of my about me page, the “type a” totally scatter brained new mom that I am!
What I would like to accomplish with my blog, Life and Yarn, is to have a place to begin to document my journey as a new mom, life in general, my many passions, and especially my love (read: obsession) of crochet. Sort of an online journal, but one that anyone can see!
Motherhood is amazing. I think I’m built to be a mom. I’m sure that sounds cliche, but really. I began to realize while I was pregnant and in the first few weeks of motherhood that all I really wanted was to be a mom. I spent 6-1/2 years in college to turn around and have my goal to be a stay at home mom, go figure. All of that time and energy to be something just to discover that what I really wanted was be what I was naturally, a mom, and it’s amazing.
As for my crochet obsession, I want to be able to share what I’ve learned over time. I was taught to crochet by my grandma at a very young age. Years later I picked up a crochet hook again. I knew what to do with it in my head but I couldn’t get my hands to do what I wanted. So after tons of online videos and lots of trial and error I started to get the basics again. Now I love learning new stitches and I have more projects in progress then I do finished. I love finally finishing a project.
Sorry for the haphazard post, I promise the next one will be more organized and specific, somewhat. Tangents are kind of my thing. Thanks for reading!
